Lofts

To maximum space, my tiny house has two lofts: the main bedroom (over the kitchen), and a secondary loft over the bathroom, which will be a lounge / guest bedroom. The main loft is 8 feet wide, while the secondary loft is just under 5 feet wide. Accessing the main loft will be done with stairs, and the secondary loft will have a ladder. I envision the secondary loft as the space where I'll read, write, and watch TV, and because it's only accessible by ladder, I'll be building a runway that spans from the main loft to the secondary loft, so that my dog can join me in the lounge. :)

For the lofts, we framed them with 2x4's, secured them with joist hangers, then attached 5/8" plywood floors using construction adhesive and deck screws.
